No Lesson April 25-May1

Hello BVECers,

I wanted to let everyone know that I will be out of town on vacation during the time listed above.  There will be no lessons at this time, unless arranged with Megan.  If your horse is boarded at BVEC you are more than welcome to come out and ride while I am away.  April 25-April 28th is Rolex so we will all be up in Lexington.  Carolyn, Bob and Megan will be at the farm April 29 - May 1.

If there are questions or you would like to rearrange your lesson, please let me know.

Thanks, Lori

Middle Tennesse PC CT

Hello Everyone!!!!! Happy Spring Time.  It has been a long time since I have posted anything on the blog.  Sorry about that.  I have just been so busy with work and the farm that I haven't had anytime to write.

BVEC will be heading to Franklin, TN tomorrow at the wee hours of the morning. Yippy.  We will be taking Megan Scott and Sky, Emily Farrar and Katie, Stephanie Salemi and Gem, and myself with Rio.  Katie Dorminey and Lance will be meeting us there.  The weather looks mild and cloudy.  I am happy as long as it is not raining and cold.  I never want to have a repeat show of Spring Bay last year when we rode in sleet and freezing rain. That was not fun for anyone!

Our ride times start at 9:35am with me, then I am followed by Megan, Katie and Emily. We are all 5mins apart.  Good job to the secretary... that is great! We then do our stadium starting at 11:05am, unfortunately Stephanie's dressage is scheduled for 11:15am which it all goes according to the schedule, will be at the nearly the same time as Emily.  If the stadium goes fast enough (2min per round), Emily should finish her round prior to Stephanie starting...which is what I am hoping for!  Stephanie will then be our last Stadium ride at 12:38ish.

We will be doing a XC school after Stephanie does her stadium... that should be fun.  I hope their ground is not as wet as ours.  We got some nice dry weather during the week which helped alot but the rain today might have made us soggy again.  :-(

Lets all hope for a fun weekend, I am sure we will all do well!

Update on Upcoming Shows

Entries for Covered Bridge were due today.  I sent in entries for Stephanie, Morgan A and myself. I believe Emily Farrar sent one in as well.  We will be riding up that morning... it will most likely be very early.  Good Times!

Next show opportunity is Spring Run Dressage Show or Midde Tenn Combine Test and XC schooling at Percy Warner Park. The latter of the two is further away and probably more expensive but they throw that fXC school in and it makes it worth it. They are both March 29th.  I know Steph and Megan had wanted to do Spring Run but if this new option interests anyone including Megan and Stephanie let me know.  I think the entry fee for the Spring Run is 20/class plus 5 for medical fee , entries for Mid Ten are $45 non PCer, 25 PCer and schooling XC is 15.   No stabling at either so again very early AMs. woo hoo.

After that is Sayre School CT in Lexington.  The open date for this is March 25th.  This one is more expensive because it is USEA recognized.  If we go to Mid Ten, we probably won't do this one.  The show is on May 10th.  The cost for a USEA member is 92, for a non-member it is 117.  Yikes.... that might as well be a Horse Trial at that cost.  I think I would not suggest this one for non USEA members.  There are other things in the summer that we can go to that aren't so pricey.

The weekend after that May 17-18 we will be back up at Masterson Station anyway for the Emily Beshear clinic which is sponsored by Pennyrile PC.  That is Beginner Novice Through Prelim, but everyone is welcome as an auditor and pony clubbers will be expected to work because it is a fundraiser.  :-)

Happy Winter

Hello All,

Sorry I have not put up a post in a while. I started my new position this past week and week one seemed to go really well doing the barn, lessons and working.  Hopefully, the schedule is working out for everyone else as well.

I did want to put up a note on the Sayer School Combined Test.  It is May 10th at Masterson Station Park in Lexington. It has Starter through Advanced.  I think this would be a great one for everyone to try and go to.  The entry opens March 25th.  It is a USEA/MSEDA recognized event. You don't have to be a member but there will be  a $25 non member  fee with the entry.  If that is going to be the only USEA show you will do this year then it is not worth it to become a member.  Most of you won't be doing USEA shows.  I dont know why this one is a recognized event, but it is.  Anyway, you can look at the entry at http://www.useventing.com/competitions.php?section=calendar&event=13673 The entry form is at http://www.useventing.com/resources/files/docs/2008_HT2D_EntryForm_1.pdf Please do let me know if you plan on riding.  If you fill out the entry and bring it to the farm I will mail them all together on the open date. (March 25)

This will be dressage and stadium only, no cross country.  The lowest level has the walk/trot dressage test and an 18inch stadium course.  Next level up is Beginner Novice test A (W,T,C) and 2ft stadium.

Hope everyone is well and please be careful in the predicted Ice Storm.
